Holly Hunter is a well-known American actress also known as a producer, director and actress. She has been praised for her roles in films like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. The film Piano earned her numerous awards including an Oscar. Actresses have a lengthy career of involvement in Broadway off-Broadway, Broadway and various productions. Since the time she was in school, she portrayed Helen Keller in a play in the fifth grade. Mumps caused her to be deaf and blind in one ear. However, she did not allow this to hinder her ambitions of becoming an actress. She studied drama at college after which she moved from Pittsburgh and moved to New York City to follow her dreams. Hunter came across Beth Henley by chance in an lift. Together, they wrote Broadway Crimes of the Heart. It was Hunter's acting debut. Her first role in film came after she relocated from Los Angeles. Since then, she has appeared in several films, TV series and movies over the course of a 30 year career. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and has been awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
